Men’s Breakfast September 15th at 7:30am
September 15 @ 7:30 am - 8:30 am
The monthly men’s breakfast is on Sept 15th, 7:30 – 8:30am in the Fellowship Hall. The menu will be the hash browns, egg, cheese and sausage casserole, biscuits, fresh fruit, coffee and juice.
The program will be a preview of the book “Stories Jesus Still Tells” by John Claypool that we will be using during the men’s book study Sept 24th – Oct 15th. The specific parable for this Saturday is sometimes called “The Midnight Request” Luke 11: 5-13. A neighbor knocks on the door of a friend late at night to ask for some bread for a traveler he is hosting. The friend finally relents.
Claypool’s meditation on this parable compares “love” to “fear” commenting that while love has the power to cast out all fear, fear has the power to cast out love. Another related comparison Claypool makes is the perception of abundance vs the perception of scarcity. Reflect on how those perceptions alter your behaviors.
