July 19th worship service

Dear NFUMC family,

I pray no matter where you are, you may be able to feel the presence of God. Before you begin our worship service, bring your Bible and keep it near you, so that you can read the scripture with the reader in the middle of service.

Today’s scripture comes from 1 Thessalonians 5 and Psalm 12. In the letter, Paul encourages us to be thankful in all circumstances. It maybe one of the familiar scriptures for many of our church members. However, I would like to ask him a question back. How can we possibly be thankful in all circumstance? Amid this time of disease and loss, what does it mean to be thankful? In today’s worship, let’s bring this question to God trying to be honest about what we feel today.

I am hoping to have more opportunities to visit you in person. If you want to have a pastoral visitation, please contact by my email or church email. I will be standing outside of your house wearing mask, and you can stay in your house.

  1. Having witnessed much sadness and suffering in my work, I need to be grateful for the many blessings I have. It is good to remind ourselves. It is important to maintain hope but sometimes we must adjust what we are hoping for and trust that God will give us what we need. But we must give him all we can by living his Word.

  2. Pastor Sunjae,

A beautiful message for a deeply troubled world.

I posted your sermon to my Facebook account so many family and friends can hear it.

Thank you for your humble and gentle spirit.

    In Faith,
    Kathy Quesnel
